Ayodele Olugbenga Edward joined LAUTECH in 2003 as Lecturer I and rose to become Professor of Medicine in 2011. He received additional training in Nephrology at Groote Schuur Hospital/University of Cape Town, South Africa, between March 2007 and March 2008 following a Grant Award by the International Society of Nephrology. He was the Dean of the Faculty of Clinical Sciences from October 1, 2014, to September 30, 2016, and the current Head of the Medicine Department (2022-2025). He is serving his second term as Head of the Nephrology subspecialty at the West African College of Physicians (2023-2024). He has over 60 scholarly articles and serves as a reviewer for over 20 peer-reviewed journals at various times. He is a member of many professional bodies and enjoys reading Christian books and watching football. He is married with children. He hopes to complete a PhD in Health Professions Education in the future.
